“Kiddy” means two things — a small child, and a small cat. So kiddyproof got a calm little mascot to watch over the chaos. An actual playable kitty scene is on the way… it's a work in progress :D
One shortcut drops a transparent kid-mode cage over your Mac. Ordinary typing, clicking, and scrolling are caught before they reach your apps — and turned into calm, glowing light your little one can play with. Your real desktop stays right there, untouched.

This is just one of the scenes — the app ships with a dozen more, from constellations to ripples to a music box. This one's the Black Hole: your cursor becomes a vacuum. It takes over your whole browser window, exactly like kid mode takes over the Mac.

A gentle shield settles over the whole screen. Every tap, click, and scroll is caught before it can reach a single app, file, or message.
Your child mashes away and the screen answers in calm, glowing motion. To leave, you hold the ⌃⌥⌘ keys — or press & hold the bottom-left corner — for three seconds. Random mashing can't reproduce a deliberate three-second hold.
Each scene is tuned to soothe, not to hype — slow easing, low-contrast palettes, soft additive glow. Input adds a little life, but it's gently capped so a frantic toddler never makes it frantic. A calm scene always opens by default; the two Energetic scenes are opt-in, only on when you switch them on.

This isn't a flimsy screen you can click through. It catches every keystroke and click before it can reach your apps — and it was stress-tested against every way it could fail before it ever guarded a screen.
Every keystroke, click, and scroll is caught the instant it happens — none of it ever reaches your apps. The glowing overlay is just for show.
The cage is transparent at full brightness — nothing dimmed, moved, or closed. Kids love the familiar desktop, and you decide the moment to hand it over.
Exit needs a deliberate ⌃⌥⌘ hold or a three-second bottom-left corner-hold — gestures a child won't stumble into.
A separate little guardian keeps watch the whole time. If anything ever hiccups — even kiddyproof itself — it hands control straight back to you within seconds.
